SIGN THE PETITION:No more Creative Standards - Cement Fair Work in the Art of Scotland Following the work carried out by the STUC and Trade Unions within Scotland’s Culture Sector, the Scottish Government commissioned two Independent reports into Creative Scotland and Fair Work within Scotland’s cultural and creative industries. These reports proposed a combined total of 52 recommendations to improve the conditions of the estimated 90,000 workers across Scotland. None of the 52 recommendations were enacted before the Scottish Parliament session ended for the 2026 elections. We need all political parties to pledge the immediate adaption and implementation of the recommendations as soon as possible following the election period. Sign our petition to party leaders today

Reclaim our streets rally in edinburghSaturday, 27 June at 1PM In recent weeks, we have seen a disturbing rise in racist violence and intimidation — from Belfast to Glasgow, and now Edinburgh. No one should be made to feel afraid walking their own streets, travelling home, or going about their daily lives because of who they are, what they look like, or what they believe. That fear and division is exactly what the far right wants. We refuse to let them succeed. On Saturday 27 June, we’ll come together in Leith to send a clear message: racism and hate have no place in our communities. Our solidarity is our power. These are our streets — let’s reclaim them. |
Save Shieldhall - Stop the Co-op Coffin Factory ClosureFor generations, Glasgow hands have built more than coffins. They have built care, dignity and community. The planned closure of the Shieldhall coffin factory puts 80 skilled local jobs at risk and ends over a century of craftsmanship in Glasgow. Support local workers. Support local manufacturing. Support Glasgow’s heritage.

Maryhill Against Racism - Public MeetingWednesday, 8 July at 6PM at Maryhill Burgh Halls There will be a public meeting at Maryhill Burgh Halls on Wednesday, 8 July to discuss how we build unity in the community, during a time of a disturbing increase of racism and racially driven attacks. Speaking about the event, STUC General Secretary Roz Foyer said, “The events in Edinburgh are a terrible reminder of what we already knew. The activities of the far right are a threat to all people of colour and to the cohesion of our communities. Maryhill is my community. Wherever racism lifts its ugly head, the trade union movement will be there to counter it.” |
