STUC Industrial Strategy Webinar

Scotland has lost 130,000 manufacturing jobs since the advent of the Scottish Parliament and the loss of jobs at Grangemouth and Mossmorran further erode Scotland’s industrial base. This webinar will consider what steps the next Scottish Parliament should take to develop a proper Industrial Strategy to create high-quality jobs and meet our social and environmental needs.

Culture not Closure public meeting 

Thursday 9 April, 6 PM at The Boardwalk, Glasgow 

Ten weeks on from the sudden closure of the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA Glasgow), cultural workers across the city are coming together to connect, reflect and organise.

Former CCA staff and community members recognise the significant challenges affecting our wider community and a call for more care and greater effective collective voice.

This meeting is an invitation to come together as a wider community.

We invite artists, cultural workers, organisations, unions and all other communitiy members to join us in an open conversation about:

  • An update on the experience of former CCA staff
  • Fair Work and workers’ rights in the cultural sector
  • The future of cultural spaces in Scotland
  • How we build collective sector voice, solidarity and action
