The STUC Black Workers’ Committee leads on campaigns and policy for black trade union members in Scotland. The committee is elected at the annual STUC Black Workers Conference (October/November).

Black History Month

In 2025, we celebrated Black History Month with a lecture on “Building Power: Black Workers organising in the UK”.

Black History Month Lecture:
The STUC was delighted to have Wilf Sullivan deliver the annual Black History Month Lecture 2025 on 17th October. Wilf spoke about the history of organising black workers across the UK and what challenges still lie ahead.

St Andrews Day March and Rally 2025

The 2025 St Andrew’s Day March and Rally took place on Saturday 29th November 2025. The theme of the march and rally was Stand Up, Speak Out: Unite Against Racism!, which shows that despite institutional and everyday challenges, there is enduring strength in solidarity among the anti-racist and anti-fascist movement in Scotland.

The 2024 annual St Andrews Day March and Rally was held in Glasgow on Saturday 30th November 2024, where trade unionists united again against racism and fascism.
