STUC send message of solidarity to the Maritime Union of New Zealand

The Scottish TradesUnion Congress (STUC) has today sent a message of solidarity to the Maritime Union of New Zealand (MUNZ) supporting it in its fight to establish a new collective agreement with the Port of Auckland Limited (POAL). POAL has issued redundancy notices, hired non-unionised contracted workers and offered individual employment agreements in an apparent bid to divide the workforce. You can sign the petition in support of the MUNZ campaign to secure meaningful negotiations with the employer here.

First Minister to Visit Workplaces of Award Winning Union Reps

The First Minister Alex Salmond MSP will visit the workplaces of the recipients of the 2011 STUC Union Rep Awards on Friday, 9 March 2012. The workplace visits have come about after a meeting between the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) and the First Minister in October 2011 at the Scottish Parliament.
