Women from workplaces all across Scotland have arrived in Dundee for the Annual Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) Women’s Conference.
In considering the conference theme ‘Women and the Economy’ women speak of their concern over job security, low wages and the need to invest in public services.
STUC Women’s Committee Chair, Pauline Rourke, a Communication Workers Union (CWU) member said,
“Women now make up half the workforce and households depend on these wages. The current recession is putting a great strain on families throughout the country”
