The first stage of the Public Inquiry into the explosion at the ICL plastics factory in Maryhill, more commonly referred to as Stockline, on May 11 2004 has now concluded.
At this stage the Inquiry has heard from a number of witnesses including the HSE, employers and workers into the circumstance leading up to the explosion and will reconvene in late October. During the second stage the inquiry will look at any recommendations that can be made to ensure loss of life on this magnitude never happens again.
