BLACK AND ETHNIC MINORITY TRADE UNIONISTS GATHER IN PERTH
6TH STUC BLACK WORKERS' CONFERENCE SATURDAY/SUNDAY, 21/22 SEPTEMBER 2002 SALUTATION HOTEL, PERTH
The STUC's 6th Annual Black Workers' Conference will take place this weekend in the Salutation Hotel, Perth. Sessions of Conference are:
Saturday 21 September 9.30 am 1pm/2pm 5 pm Sunday 22 September 9.30 am 1 pm
Key issues to be debated by delegates include:
Opposition to the Government's proposals for ID Cards
Strategy for Implementation of the Race Relations Amendment Act
Support for Refugees and Asylum Seekers
Tackling Slavery.
The Conference will also hold a special afternoon session on the Saturday afternoon from 2 pm until 4 pm on Tackling Racism and Community Cohesion: Scotland's Challenge. Keynote speakers at this session include:

Kay Hampton, CRE Commissioner for Scotland
Shahid Malik, Community Activist from Burnley, England
