Responding to the Prime Minister's announcement that a white paper will be produced on Brexit, Grahame Smith, STUC General Secretary, said:
“Finally common sense has prevailed and the UK Government has agreed to produce a white paper on Brexit. It is essential that this white paper contains detailed plans on the UK's priorities within the Brexit negotiations, particularly around access to the single market, and makes clear how workers’ rights and other social protections will be defended.
“The Government must now also consider how it will live up to its democratic duty to include the views and priorities of the devolved administrations within the UK's negotiating priorities.”
