Responding to the report of the Expert Working Group on Welfare published today, Grahame Smith, Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) General Secretary said:
'There are some positive recommendations in the group's report. It is encouraging that the report welcomes the importance of the quality rather than just the availability of work. Particularly important is the call for an increase in the Minimum Wage to a Living Wage level. We hope the Scottish Government will respond swiftly and positively to this modest but nonetheless positive proposal."
