The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) has today expressed its outrage that the British National Party (BNP) is being given air time to promote its divisive policies of racism and hatred.
STUC General Secretary Grahame Smith said:
“The STUC is outraged that the BNP will have public airtime to spread their message of lies, hatred and misinformation. Racist organisations like the BNP must be challenged at every level, and should never be given a public platform. We are disgusted with this decision, and will continue our campaign to keep Scotland free from racist and fascist politics”.
The STUC is supporting the Unite Against Fascism Demonstration “No BNP on the Licence Fee” being held at the BBC Pacific Quay headquarters tomorrow (Saturday 23 May) at 12 noon.
