Scotland’s largest trade union body has delivered a “scathing” letter to Creative Scotland as workers in the creative sector have demanded an immediate halt to the sale of 350 Sauchiehall Street. The former site of the Centre for Contemporary Arts has been put up for sale by Creative Scotland despite “deep concerns” from creative workers on the lack of engagement, transparency and dialogue with the creative workforce on the future of the venue. In a letter delivered to the cultural body from the Scottish Trades Union Congress and their Creative Industries Group, encompassing creative unions within the sector, trust in Creative Scotland from unions is said to be at an "all time low" with workers demanding the Board of Creative Scotland suspend the sale process of the building and open a public consultation on the future of 350 Sauchiehall Street.
