ORGANISER – EDINBURGH OFFICE, SCOTLAND

Prospect is a Trade Union representing over 120,000 professional, managerial and technical staff in a range of occupations in science, engineering, energy and the environment across the public and private sectors. We employ around 190 staff, many in our main headquarters in London, but also in our offices in the English Regions, in Wales and in Scotland.

Prospect is currently seeking to recruit a permanent full-time Organiser based at our Scottish Office in Edinburgh. The role is responsible for assisting with organising recruitment initiatives, improving Prospect’s branch organisation, developing local communications and supporting local representatives.

Specifically, the individual will be required to have:

• Strong skills in relation to communication and co-ordination

• Ability to identify areas of development and assess risks

• Experience of organising campaigns and events, and deliver training

• Ability to work with the immediate team and closely with the national team

• Commitment to the trade union movement

• Good motivational skills

• Ability to travel to various employer sites across Scotland
