The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) today (Wednesday 24 June) rejected the Foreign Office’s “dismay” at trade union’s supporting boycotts of Israel, and suggested this is an indication that the UK Government is out of step with the views of workers on this matter.

The health and wellbeing of young Scots will be at the top of the agenda when the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) Youth Conference meets in Dundee this weekend. Scottish Government Minister for Public Health and Sport, Shona Robison will deliver the first keynote speech of the two day conference that will be attended by young trade unionists from across Scotland and other organisations with an interest in protecting the health and wellbeing of young people.

The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) Youth Conference meeting in Dundee (27/28 June 2009) will call on members of the Scottish Youth Parliament to reject toleration of political extremism by refusing to take their seats until candidates who hold membership of the British National Party (BNP) are subjected to open, inclusive and contested elections in which their political affiliation is made known to those eligible to vote.
