Speaking after the MPC’s decision to raise interest rates to 5.75%, Grahame Smith, STUC General Secretary, said:

The STUC is supporting the Scotland Against Terror rally which will be held on Saturday 7 July 2007 in George Square, Glasgow at 1.30pm. Saturday will mark the second anniversary of the London Bombings and a week since the atrocious attack on Glasgow Airport.

Commenting on today’s strike action at The Herald, Grahame Smith, STUC General Secretary, said:

The STUC has welcomed a slight reduction in the number of fatal injuries occurring in Scottish workplaces but warned against any complacency by employers.
