The Scottish Trades Union Congress has dismay at the Court of Appeal decision that threw out the charges laid against Transco following the deaths of a family of four in gas explosion in Larkhall.
STUC and HIE to set up new lifelong learning unit

The STUC is to set up a new lifelong learning unit, in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise. The new unit will will aim to raise lifelong learning awareness and activity among trade union members across the Highlands and Islands.
STUC calls demonstration to shut down Dungavel Detention Centre

The STUC added their weight to concerns over Dungavel Detention Centre, and announced that it would be organising a demonstration outside Dungavel on Saturday 6 September 2003, calling for Dungavel?s closure, on the second anniversary of its opening.
