She will be a loss and a hard act to follow, to say the least, and I hope that her stepping back from front line politics is temporary.

17th : STUC Welcomes Asbestos Decision

The STUC has welcomed the decision of the House of Lords to reverse the Court of Appeal decision that threatened the claims of the vast majority of personal injury cases lodged by lawyers representing victims of asbestos related diseases.

28th : STUC ?not celebrating? Byers? resignation

Stephen Byers was no close pal of the STUC, but his forced resignation is something that we are certainly not celebrating.

30th : More than 350,000 people in Scotland may lose out on Jubilee bank holiday, says STUC

While we recognise that some people must work on public holidays, they should be compensated for the inconvenience of having to work while the rest of the nation is at play.
