The Scottish Pensioners? Forum today condemned the Government award of ?100.00 a year rise in the pension as miserable.
28th : Trade unionists unite to challenge racism and fascism!
This is an annual event, which was first organised as a response to the BNP trying to claim St. Andrew?s Day as their own, at which many trade unions, including the Fire Brigades Union, are consistently represented.

This is an unbelievable display of arrogant, macho management which does no favours to anyone, particularly the travelling public, who have now been told that they will have no subway service until the New Year.

It is deeply worrying that representatives of the employers are now openly saying that they believe that the Government agenda is to break the Union.

Following yesterday?s newspaper report that a Scottish Executive Minister had described the Fire Brigades Union as ?fascist bastards?, today?s broadcast by the Prime Minister was unreasonable, unthinking and unhelpful.

The so-called independent Bain Report can now be seen for what it really is, and those of us who were privately asking the Fire Brigades Union if they were wise not to co-operate with it have our answer....

Allegations that a Scottish Executive Minister had described firefighters as ?fascist bastards.? has naturally caused grave concern throughout the labour and trade union movement in Scotland, and genuine hurt and anger among firefighters.
