"WAR NEXT WEEK WOULD BE A VICTORY FOR TERRORISTS", SAYS STUC GENERAL SECRETARY
At a series of anti-war rallies being held across Dumfries and Galloway tomorrow (Saturday 8 March), STUC General Secretary, Bill Speirs, will say:
"War is sometimes necessary - but it must always be justified.
"If the United States, followed by the UK, launch a war next week they will undoubtedly secure a military, tactical, victory. But thousands of innocents will die, and in the War on Terrorism the terrorists will have been handed a major strategic victory.
"War next week will be wrong."
