HOUSING STOCK TRANSFER - "GHA MUST NOW DELIVER ON THEIR PROMISES"
Commenting on today's announcement that by a 3-2 majority Glasgow's Council tenants have voted to transfer from the City Council to a Glasgow Housing Association, STUC General Secretary, Bill Speirs, said:
"While comment could be - and will be - made about the advertising budgets available to each side in this debate, this result is a clear vote of no confidence in Glasgow City Council's management and ownership of social housing, which I believe is unfortunate and unfair.
However, the choice has been made, and it is now up to the Glasgow Housing Association to deliver on the bold promises they have made."
