Commenting on the Chancellor’s decision to increase the personal allowance, Grahame Smith, STUC General Secretary said:
“The Government should be commended for listening to the very widespread concern over the removal of the 10p tax rate and acting to compensate those affected. It is particularly welcome that 600,000 of the UK’s lowest paid workers will be taken out of income tax altogether.
