The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) has expressed concern at the announcement that careers staffs are to be transferred to a new quango.
STUC Assistant Secretary Dave Moxham said “We do not believe that the creation of yet another quango will achieve the stated objective of delivering a better service to individuals.
“A Careers Service run by Scottish local authorities on a regional basis will, in our view, and the view of careers staff, improve the service and strengthen links with local government.
“The Minister’s disregard, despite representations, of the views of front line staff who deliver this valuable service does not fill us with confidence about future engagement on this issue.
