The Scottish TUC today welcomed the announcement by Justice Minister, Kenny MacAskill, that the management of the replacement prison at Bishopbriggs will be public sector.
STUC General Secretary Grahame Smith said “We are pleased the Executive have been convinced by our argument that the running of Scottish Prisons should be within the public sector.
“We look forward to the remaining privately run prisons being brought back within the public sector as soon as possible.”
