Tackling Violence and Abuse Against Women and Families
Women workers from across Scotland will gather at the City Chambers in Glasgow, next Tuesday and Wednesday to debate a range of workplace issues, but also to raise awareness of and consider actions to tackle violence and abuse against women and families.
The Conference, Chaired by the RMT's Janet Cassidy, will hear from the Minister for Communities, Malcolm Chisholm MSP, actress Elaine C Smith, and speakers from Zero Tolerance, Amnesty International and Barnardos Scotland.
At a Civic Reception, hosted by Glasgow City Council, for the Conference at 5.15pm on Tuesday 15 November, delegates will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Sex Discrimination Act and the Equal Opportunities Committee with a birthday cake which has a 15% slice missing signifying the gender pay gap.
