STUC Condemns FPB attitude to Work Your Proper Hours Campaign
The STUC has reacted angrily to the Forum of Private Business (FPB), comments on the STUC/TUC campaign for Scottish workers to work their proper hours. In particular, alarm has been raised by the comments of Peter Hunt, of Darrell Couriers of Fife who suggests in his comments that if his workers drivers need to work excess hours for his firm to survive then they should.
STUC Assistant Secretary Ian Tasker said "The comments from Peter Hunt reveal the very reason why campaigns such as Work Your Proper Hours are essential. When you have employers who suggest that excessive unpaid hours behind the wheel are necessary their apparent attitude to the safety of their own employees and other road users must be a matter of concern to us all"
