Certificate of Professional Development in Workplace Health

This professional development course in Workplace Health is offered by the Scottish Centre for Occupational Safety and Health (SCOSH, Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of Strathclyde) in collaboration with NHS Health Scotland and the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives, as part of their commitment to continuing professional development.

The aim of the course is to increase participants’ knowledge and critical understanding of workplace health matters. The course is unique in that it integrates health and safety, occupational health and health promotion and has a major objective of promoting collaboration between different disciplines.

The Scottish Centre is offering bursaries to ten trade union or voluntary sector organisations to cover 75% of the cost leaving a balance payable of £174.

Anyone wishing to take up the course and receive a bursary should complete the attached application form indicating that they are from a union of voluntary sector. Strathclyde University will then liaise with Scottish Centre for Health Working Lives around the bursary. Places are allocated on a first come, first serviced basis and it’s anticipated that a similar scheme will be available next year.
