STUC St Andrew’s Day Anti Racism March and Rally

SATURDAY 29th NOVEMBER 2008

Trade unionists, politicians, faith and community groups, will come together in Glasgow on Saturday 29 November 2008 to march against racism and fascism.

Speaking about the event Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) General Secretary Grahame Smith said:

“In these challenging economic times we have to guard against prejudice or marginalisation, and any suggestion that we can ignore equality issues. Tackling inequality, racism and fascism head on, is even more important today”.

The STUC is delighted to have the support of the Glasgow Anti Racist Alliance, trade unions, the Prime Minister Gordon Brown MP, the First Minister Alex Salmond MSP, Scottish politicians, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Scottish Refugee Council, students, faith and community groups, for our St Andrew’s Day Anti Racism March.

March Assembles 10.30 a.m. St Andrew’s in the Square (off Saltmarket).

March Off 11.00 a.m.

Rally 12 noon Glasgow Film Theatre, Rose Street, Glasgow
