Workers' Memorial Day

Workers Memorial Day

Remember the Dead Fight for the Living!

International Workers’ Memorial Day takes place across the world on the 28th April annually and in 2019 at least 21 commemorations took place in Scotland. Most events are organised by Trade Union Councils The day provides a focus for us l to remember those who have been killed at work, to provide support and comfort to their families and to commit to striving for healthier, safer and fairer work for all.

Around 12 Scottish workers have their lives cut short every day as a result of work, either through fatal injuries at work, occupational disease, work related road traffic accidents or suicides connected to the person’s work.

Details of Workers Memorial Day events for 2020 will appear here.
