STANDUPANDSPEAKOUT

16-17th of October will be a global show of strength by the anti-poverty movement. The STUC is urging trade unionists to take part!

In October last year, 23 million people around the world took part in a symbolic "Stand Up Against Poverty" action. This easily broke the Guinness book of records for a single mass campaigning action. In 2007 this record will be broken again.

In April the STUC signed up to the Global Call to Against Poverty (GCAP), and at STUC Congress the General Secretary Grahame Smith, along with Scottish trade union leaders signed up to GCAP Scotland.

STANDUPANDSPEAKOUT calls for you symbolically to stand up and declare your opposition to world poverty and inequality on October 17th.
