The STUC’s One Workplace Equal Rights Project are organising the inaugural Equality Award to be presented at Congress 2007 as part of the Project’s overall aim to mainstream equality and tackle discrimination within the trade union movement

The objective of this Award is to ensure and encourage best practice of equalities work is mainstreamed within trade union activity and maintain a high profile of the equality agenda work. Early next year, Scottish trade unions will be invited to nominate lay officials for an Award who have demonstrated a commitment towards equalities issues.

A selected panel will judge performance from nominations received and the winner will be presented the Award from a Minister at Congress 2007.
