Deputy General Secretary: Policy, Political Liaison & Equalities
(Full-time - 34 hours per week)
Salary: £58,897 (plus defined benefit pension scheme with employer contribution of 26.8%)
The STUC is seeking to recruit a highly skilled and experienced individual to this significant senior leadership position within the Scottish trade union movement.
The role involves the effective management of the Policy and Equalities team and managing the STUC’s political relations activities.
You will lead on the development of STUC policy as determined by the Annual Congress and in line with the General Council’s strategic objectives, as well as supporting the operation of the STUC Annual Congress Standing Orders’ Committee.
You will oversee and coordinate the work of the STUC’s Equality Conferences and Committees.
The Deputy General Secretary will be tasked with ensuring that equality is effectively ‘mainstreamed’ across all functions of the STUC. This is a demanding but fulfilling and rewarding role, working at the heart of the trade union movement.
